Agenda
Meeting Notes
- Implementation faze coming up: perhaps figure out a time for future work-jams?
- Need to have enough of simulation ‘done’ where it can be tested by users (at end of semester)
- Need leo & Meara’s assistance with design
- One of our goals is entertainment, which implies it is a ‘game’
- Need to figure out a balance between playfulness and serious
- Leo seems to want it to be more playful
- Pastel approves basic design (no argument / suggestions)
- Fixed network is a good idea
- Minimize / eliminate backend (entirely JavaScript)
- Potentially use Unity (C sharp)(Pastel is okay with it if we go this route)
- Unity has a way to export games to get it onto our website
- Have simulation work with C panel?
- Some type of virtual machine set up to a server
- Implemented via drawing library - would have to keep state
- State will be very complex
- Should ask Leo & Meara for specific needs when it comes to exporting
- Need a “How to play” / Tutorial screen
- Not clear what the simulation is
- Maybe we don’t need a “simulation”?
- Events that occur during simulation
- Perhaps show little animations between nodes?
- What would it show as ‘results’ (probably mostly just calculations)
- Online-only web app (using Unity)
- Deploy frequently & early
- Deploy to GitHub Pages during development
- Grails is not necessary (only for backend, which we don’t have)
- 1 - Make the Network
- 2 - Calculate some results (how good is the network)?
- No simulation, if feasible
- 3 - Add simulation component
Action Items
- Meet with Leo & Meara 2/18 5:30pm to discuss design details
