App Idea
-
The proposed app idea is a dynamic tool aimed at enhancing public understanding and involvement in green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) within urban environments. Focused on Southeast Michigan, it combines educational resources with a user-interactive map, to highlight existing GSI locations. Its educational module informs users about various GSI types and their importance in modern urban planning, especially under the threat of climate change and increasing urban floods.
-
The interactive map feature allows users, particularly students in Detroit, to discover, photograph, and add new GSI sites, fostering environmental stewardship and hands-on learning. This app not only serves as a learning platform but also as a data collection tool to assist urban planners and researchers in identifying areas needing GSI, ultimately contributing to more sustainable urban landscapes.
Research Topic
Enhancing Human Computer Interaction Through Large Language Models: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions
My My PhD research lies at the intersection of Bioinformatics/Computational Biology and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a strong emphasis on the application of Advanced Deep Learning and Transfer Learning techniques. The primary aim is to harness the power of NLP and Large Language Models (LLMs) for the analysis and prediction of protein structures and functions from biological sequences. This foundation enables me to explore the intersection of NLP, particularly through LLMs, with Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The methodologies and insights derived from my research not only advance the field of bioinformatics but also contribute to refining HCI frameworks. By integrating LLM capabilities into HCI, we can significantly enhance interface intuitiveness, accessibility, and adaptability, promising a more natural and efficient interaction paradigm for diverse applications.
