Objectives

            The main goal of this course is to help students to build up their knowledge and practical administration skills for TCP/IP networks. Topics to be covered include: overview of network architectures, basic configuration, interface configuration, configuring routing, DNS, local network Services such as DHCP, NFS, NIS, LPD and POP/IMAP, mail server, web server, firewall, network monitoring  and troubleshooting.

            CS 3451 Computer Administration

            CS 4461 Computer Networks

Homework and lab:    70%
