Howdy, I am a 1st year CS PhD student and a consultent for the team one scam detection website. The website aims to help detirmine is texts/emails are scams. Additoinally, it helps to eduate users on what scams are, how they work, and who they target.
App description:
The Scam detection application is designed to detect what may be a scam from various sources such as emails and texts.This is done by using an AI tool to help determine the message is a scam and return to the user a confidence rating on if it is a scam. Additionally, this will be an educational app/webpage that will help educate users on signs of a scam. We plan on doing this by listing areas of concern a user should watch out for. Due to the fact that the users who will be using this website are not the most tech-savvy (i.e. older adults or young users) we plan to keep the design simple and straight forward. We hope that utilizing a simple and clear format will not only make our system easy to use but will also imply professionalism that our website is a real one.
